I am running for Vice President of Finance at Santa Rosa Junior College because I feel I can bring a balance to the board. I recently graduated from Petaluma High School. Through my four years I have gained experience on how to be a leader, a friend, and a team player. I have been living in Santa Rosa for the past five years and since thenI  have been involving myself in my community. During my time as president of SkillsUSA, I ran budgets, organized events, while also advertising the opportunities the student organization offered. With proper distribution of resources and educational materials I am convinced we can offer quality education to all students on campus. I have been a meteor for the Sonoma County Career Fest advocating to students the importance of education. As for my volunteer experiences, I have gotten my school to initiate a recycling program as well as conducting multiple food drives during the holiday seasons. I look forward to serving you in the office. Thank you for your vote.

Hello! My name is Andrew Simmalaychanh, I am running to be your Vice President of Clubs for the Santa Rosa Campus. I am a current senior at Windsor High School, dual enrolled in classes at the SRJC with the intent to attend the JC after high school. As someone who has been in high school-level leadership, I've grasped the key concepts of teamwork, leadership, and organization, that are needed to be a Vice President of Clubs. I have facilitated events such as a massive orientation for incoming eighth graders, involving high school clubs,  athletics, and extracurricular organizations. I also serve as a youth commissioner for the parks and recreation of Windsor! these opportunities have allowed me to grasp being a liaison between smaller communities like clubs, and advocating for them on a grander level. I would love the opportunity to be your Vice President of Clubs for the Santa Rosa Campus and would love to advocate for and represent the club communities on Campus.

Thank you for considering my candidacy

Vice President of Clubs - Petaluma

Alonso Rodriguez Villalobos

Alonso Photo

I am a first-generation Latino student majoring in psychology. The SRJC has allowed me to form connections despite my inexperience as a college student. Working alongside students as a Student Success Coach has allowed me to gain insight into the struggles of students first hand aside from my own. This inspired me to run as VP of Clubs for the opportunity to bring change to SRJC. As VP of clubs, I plan to coordinate alongside students, faculty, and administration to work together for the betterment of the SRJC. I wish to focus on students' physical and mental health, the college community, and the personal development of students. I will do this by pushing for new policies, raising awareness of students' needs, and forming events catered to the needs of the students.

Vice President of Student Life - Santa Rosa

Melissa Ramirez

Melissa Photo

My team on the student life committee will bring the Spirit back into the college by bringing field days before exams, Picnics on the lawn, parties, workshops, and more. Part of VP of Student life, we are all students of life. My system of engagement for students is to feel connected to their environment, and classmates. To understand what it's like here at the JC.

These are passions I have and I'm eager to solve their life journey as we gather in this experience to grow and learn with one another. I'm inspired by these students to help them be the best they can be by supporting them in their endeavors. Part of life is to make sure that it is enjoyable and break away from the stereotypical High School image. Being a young adult comes with exploration and diversity in getting to know yourself as a human being and being a part of something more. Being in this time now is one of the greatest moments for us because we are growing to detach from old ways. So my way of giving back is to ensure that there is joy and a great experience at the JC. Events will be held out in the quad where people can enjoy a warm lunch and go to fun activities later in the year.

I'm devoted to making sure that there is something to look back to while you learn to grow into the adults that you will one day become. To reach for your better version of yourself.

That's why I'm running for VP of Student life in 2024

I have a goal I would like to accomplish at the Santa Rosa Junior College that is to be of help with the student government team for VP of Student Life. I would like to help students with who they are as an individual, to bring out qualities that people already have as a person. As an individual we all have a job to do, which would be spreading love to fulfill our life success goals. We all want to be great so let's get to it !! We all are beautiful people by nature and deserve to flourish while achieving our many life successes! I am currently an SRJC student, being a part of the college has been a wonderful and such an amazing experience so far. My motive here is to continue to be a good student at SRJC, and to accomplish success with helping students learn about their qualities as a person. I have an interest in Art, which is so pleasurable to me and has been one of my many life successes. Art is somewhat the direction of my study, I have always been a fun, blissful, naturalist person. The colors, values, and characteristics I can associate myself with are red- loving, blue-giving, green-recycling and nature, yellow-shining brightly. The things that I mentioned of my association has helped with growth in many different aspects in my life. I've become brave, encouraging, and knowledgeable with some of my growth as a person. I plan to flourish as a leader if given the opportunity to be vice president of student government. Brightening, striving and igniting, bringing forth change is how I imagine being VP. I spent my childhood and some of my adult life in Florida.

Sabrina Prada

Rocio Jimenez Photo

My name is Sabrina Prada, and I am honored to be running for the position of VP of Marketing. I want to take this opportunity to highlight some of my experiences and accomplishments that I believe make me the best candidate for this position. As an international student from Bolivia, I understand the importance of feeling supported and included in the college community. That is why I am proud to have served as the Vice President and Treasurer of the International Club. In this role, I have helped organize events and activities that promote cultural awareness and appreciation, as well as fostered a sense of community among international students. In addition to my work with the International Club, I am also a part of the process of creating a new Club at SRJC. The purpose of this club is to provide a supportive community for all ESL students and to motivate them to continue with credit classes after completing non-credit courses. I believe that this club can play a significant role in helping students achieve their academic and personal goals, and I am excited to be a part of this important initiative. My experiences with the clubs have taught me the importance of effective communication and outreach in promoting student involvement and success. As Vice President of Marketing, I would use my skills and experiences to ensure that all students are aware of the resources and opportunities available to them, including the CubCard Premium Student Benefits program and SGA events and programs. In addition, I believe that financial responsibility and transparency are crucial in maintaining the stability and effectiveness of the benefits program. I would work closely with the Student Life Accounts Specialist to review the financial standing of the program regularly, and to ensure that students are informed of the program's financial status.

Vice President of Diversity

Kabir Pandeya

Kabir PhotoHello, my name is Kabir, I'm 20 years old, I've been involved with student government for about a year now as the vice president of sustainability and previously as a representative in the district sustainability committee. When it comes to Diversity I believe in creating a tolerant and enduring environment for everyone as, more now than ever, it is very important for us to come together to debate, discuss, and act on the issues and ideals we care about. And I know this because of my own experience with life as a young person looking to help create a better world, that despite my best effort and thought, that I alone often fail or am off from 100% correct, but along with the judgement of others, even or especially those I disagree with or am different from, that we end up closer to the right answer.

Vice President of Student Health

Rachel Butterfield

Rachel Photo

My name is Rachel Butterfield, and as a pre-med biology major at SRJC, I am eager to improve health and wellness on campus. I am currently in my third semester as a full-time student. You may have met me while visiting Student Health Services, where I am a student health aide, in the MESA center, where I am a high honors student and stem tutor, or in the pool as an athlete on the varsity swim team. I am committed to creating an environment that strengthens inclusivity on campus, echoing what I have learned as a first-generation student. Given the opportunity, I would dedicate my time to promote available resources and listen to your ideas to ensure that all students are physically and mentally well-equipped to accomplish their education and career goals since I believe health is the foundation of success.

Vice President of Sustainability

Frigyes Erdősi-Szűcs

Frigyes PhotoSustainability is a matter of great importance to me. Since the industrial revolution, unsustainable practices have grown exponentially, and only recently did we start to understand the devastating effects of these harmful practices on our environment. While there is still a lot to research, we know one thing for sure: the unsustainable practices of our society can not continue for long. Sustainability is a cause we need to fight for on multiple levels of our society, from personal to international. I would like to help in the development of sustainable policies and practices in our college community.

Student Trustee

Logan Warren

Logan Photo

As your next Student Trustee, I'm honored to be given the opportunity to help serve the Junior College community. I will help strengthen our school and community by implementing a plan I like to call PCM, PCM will help target and eliminate some of the most serious issues affecting our school and its students. P is for parking,  when I'm elected Student Trustee I will support the purchase of new land in order to secure accessible parking for all students. The school has a severe lack of parking on its North Side and nowhere is this more of an issue than in the Emeritus lot, I've heard from friends and colleagues of the countless accidents and hit-and-runs that happen there due to the heavy congestion driven by the sad lack of parking. Under my new plan parking your car will be accessible, safe, and cheap due to the many new parking lots and garages.  C is for Certificates, the SRJC offers a significant amount of certificates for many industries but throughout the year many certificates have been cut, I plan to add more certificate programs and restore some of the discarded programs across all campuses. Finally, M is for Mental Health, we have a huge Mental Crisis going on in the modern world. According to the "National Institute of Mental Health" one in five adults live with mental illness. In order for our school's to be successful we need more resources directed toward mental health outreach and support. This means extending the hours in which school therapists are available and hiring additional staff to help support this expansion. I'm grateful to be given this opportunity to work with the community and staff to help strengthen this great college. If anybody has any questions contact me at 707-303-0182 or at loganwarren4@gmail.com.
